Consulate hours for the public
The Consulate is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (excluding public holidays.)

ISSUE OF VISA
Visa applications will be attended to on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The following documents should be forwarded with the Visa application.

  • Valid Passport
  • If the visit is sponsored, a letter from the sponsoring party. If the visit is private, a police certificate from the sponsor's area of residence in Hungary should be forwarded.
  • In the absence of a sponsor, proof of financing during the stay in Hungary, if staying in a hotel, confirmed hotel reservation addressed direct to the Consulate by the hotel giving the name and passport number of the applicant.
  • Return air ticket and/or other travel documents.
  • Four (4) passport size copies of a recent photograph of the applicant signed on the reverse by the applicant.
  • Health insurance for the duration of stay from a local Insurance Company.
  • Consulate may request for any other documents if necessary.
  • Application should be made at least 10 working days before the proposed date of visit.
  • If employed, a letter from the employer authorising leave for the duration of absence.

 Visa forms will be issued only after presentation of the above documents and the payment in full of the prescribed  fee, which is non-refundable.

 The applicant should call in personally, as the visa application has to be completed within the Consulate premises  and will not be allowed to be taken out.

 Once the Consulate accepts the visa application for processing there is no necessity to visit the Consulate to make  further inquiries unless summoned by the Consulate. NO CANVASSING WILL BE ENTERTAINED IN THIS  REGARD.

 The applicant will be informed of the outcome on the given telephone number or by telegram/fax/e-mail if a telephone  is not available.
