beautiful town is where the British succeeded in creating an English
country side with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. There
is a famous golf course called Nuwara Eliya Golf Course which is one
of the best in South East Asia. There are also numerous tennis courts,
botanical gardens and tea plantations in the surrounding hills. Close
to Nuwara Eliya are Horton Plains, Sri Lanka’s highest and most
isolated plateau.
Nature lovers will revel in this wide, grass covered plain, the resting
place of many wild yet harmless animals and the home of many species
of birds.
