Romantic beach weddings on a tropical beaches of the island of Sri Lanka or a wedding that has all flavours of the Sri Lankan culture and set amongst the beautiful nature scenery in the hill country. To add colours to your weddings there is always extras like elephant rides, drummers, dancers and beautifully decorated stages called "Poruwa".
   
• The wedding couple is escorted to the wedding location by drummers and Kandyan dancers in procession.
• The couples stand on the "Mangul Poruwa" (an elevated wedding platform made of coconut leaves and decorated with fresh flowers).

• The couple offers 7 betel leaf bundles to the Gods with the request for protecting the lives of seven generations originating from their marriage.

• The exchange of wedding rings (supplied by the couple).
• The bridegroom dresses the bride with a gold necklace (brought by the groom).
• Chanting of "Jayamangala Gatha" by 6 virgins to invoke the blessings for the couple.
• Exchange of gifts between the couple (brought by the couple).
• The small fingers of the bride and groom are tied with gold thread to symbolise the bond and unity. Holy water is poured onto the fingers whilst the chantings continue.
• The couple step down from the "poruwa" and a fresh coconut is broken in front of the couple to drive away evil spirits.
• Registration of names by the Government Marriage Registrar in the presence of 2 attesting witnesses (if no relatives or friends of the couple are present, hotel staff will sign as witnesses).
• Lighting of a brass oil lamp by the couple for a bright future.
• Cutting of the wedding cake.
   
• The couple should hold a minimum period of residency at the hotel of 4 days prior to the date of the ceremony.
• The wedding will take place in the hotel premises and it will be conducted by the Master of Ceremonies at any day between 8.00a.m. and 18.00 p.m. except on Sundays and Public Holidays.
• No one under 21 years of age is permitted to marry in Sri Lanka as according to Government regulations.
   
• Photocopies of Birth Certificates of the couple.
If Divorced or widowed Certificates of Divorce or Death Certificate.
Photocopies of Passports.
• Details of your names, addresses and occupations, Details of parent's names, occupations and addresses and an affidavit confirming marital status.
• If unmarried an affidavit certificate should be forwarded.
• The above should reach the hotel 30 days prior to the date of ceremony. Original documents must be taken on holiday with you.
• Also originals of above documents will have to be produced to the respective hotel at least 4 days prior to the ceremony.
• The necessary marriage certificate and Ministry’s approval with English translation will be delivered to the client within 14 working days after the ceremony.
